A.I. Deepfake Technology: Part 1

Are you SURE that is your boss, friend, or family on the phone with you?

Now more then any other time in human history, the human species face an existensial crisis. Ironically we risk falling by the wayside due to our increasing reliance and facination with advanced artifical intelligence's. While the full implications are not yet known, it is hard to argue that with the advent of OpenAI's ChatGPT bot, art generation tools like Midjourney, and a variety of different competing companies leveraging AI to impersonate ANY...we are in uncharted waters.

With a very small sample, AI tools that are out there right now and accessible by millions of people can take a very short audio clip of someone talking and generate their voice with AI to say whatever they type in. Don't take my word for it, watch this clip here.

The key take away here is that we may need to devise strategies in our personal and professional lives to account for this new threat vector so that we don't fall prey to someone with a keyboard and a motive. While the technology can certainly lead to a great many positive changes, we would be remiss to ingore the potential for devestating negative changes as well.

Stay tuned for future updates on this very expansive topic.
